About The Position

The Commissioning Field Service Representative (FSR) is part of the Services Technical Operations team and focuses on the effective commissioning of complex services projects. This role is responsible for project closure, implementing plant optimization, providing customer support, and resolving customer issues. The FSR will provide world-class support to ES Services & install base customers, managing customer issues to closure through both on-site and remote access. Responsibilities include implementing all necessary EHS, design standards, procedures, governance, and processes to act as a customer-facing Subject Matter Expert (SME). This is a highly networked role requiring the ability to work under pressure, make operational decisions under challenging deadlines, and possess strong people management and technical skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (engineering or chemistry preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in water/wastewater treatment projects or related fields.
  • Working knowledge and experience of PLC & HMI/SCADA programming and troubleshooting (Rockwell, GE-IP/Emerson preferred).
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and operate independently to deliver business results.
  • Clear and concise communication skills.

  • Knowledge of Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions products, solutions, and applications
  • Excellent computer skills (i.e., Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Relevant field experience working on the Veolia products.
  • Background in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) tools.
  • Focus on customer relationships (both external and internal customers). Understands balance between customer and Veolia teams.
  • Working knowledge and experience with industrial networking and fieldbus’.
  • Mathematical skills, including math operations in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, ratio and percentage.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret instruction and safety manuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan multiple priorities, focus on the most important ones.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to new problems, clients, and situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to make timely and correct decisions without all the information.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of and/or demonstrated ability to learn new equipment and processes related to Veolia WTS products and systems including but not limited to RO/ED, UF/MBR, Ion Exchange, ADT and Thermal technologies.
  • Mechanical experience and know-how (hands on, reading and interpreting drawings, etc.), particularly with water treatment equipment (pumps, valves, instrumentation, relief valves, regulators, pneumatic systems, etc.).
  • Electrical experience and know-how (hands on, reading and interpreting drawings, etc.), particularly with electrical panels and water treatment equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Project commissioning planning and leadership, and on-site execution of commissioning plans, troubleshooting and close out.
  • Assist customers with requirements (space, labor requirements, tools, disposal of test water, etc.) to support commissioning activities, operational/startup, recommended spares, and training for operating and maintenance practices.
  • Feedback and contribute to product and system design improvements to design and development functions and management team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Organize and drive feedback to engineering and product management for sustained product and project delivery improvement.
  • Ensure that Services Water Treatment Projects are safely and successfully commissioned for custom bridge projects and extended scope projects from construction to commissioning and during operations.
  • Responsible for resolving systemic issues and leading the necessary experts to a resolution.
  • Use knowledge and observations of events at customer sites to formulate a plan to resolve customer issues.
  • Implement plant optimization techniques.
  • Implement PLC/HMI/Controls optimization process for effective post commissioning project closures.
  • Training/Mentoring in house and in field of company staff or partners for site visits, commissioning activities and troubleshooting specific to Veolia products & their operations, including knowledge about the product, process, typical equipment, and associated controls.
  • Managing customer expectations and ensuring that the highest standards are maintained by Veolia WTS employees at every site.
  • Communicate with fellow services, product team members, engineering, process & controls groups to ensure issues are recorded and understood to allow uninterrupted customer service.
