Commissioning Engineer
About The Position
Big Sky Operations engineers the full infrastructure lifecycle, from commissioning and deployment through operations and sustainment. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience executing and leading the commissioning process.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
- Familiarity with commissioning procedures, testing methodologies, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Candidates must be willing and able to travel as needed to fulfill project requirements.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute commissioning of MEP and control systems from construction through project handover
- Develop commissioning plans, testing procedures, schedules, and documentation
- Perform inspections, functional testing, and performance verification against design intent
- Troubleshoot and resolve system deficiencies to ensure safe, efficient operation
- Support MEP design reviews and constructability assessments
- Coordinate on-site commissioning activities with technicians, contractors, and trade partners
- Ensure systems comply with applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements
- Prepare, review, and maintain commissioning reports, test results, and turnover documentation
- Support project managers with commissioning deliverables, tracking, and closeout activities
- Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to meet project schedules and quality goals
