About The Position

Praetorian Power Protection, the leader in NETA testing and staff augmentation to the mission-critical industry, is searching for a strong Commissioning Engineer with electrical experience for our data center site in Monroe LA. This role is critical to ensuring the successful commissioning of mechanical systems for our projects. In this position you will: Ensure that mission-critical electrical systems are installed, tested, and functioning according to the design intent. This role spans the entire project lifecycle—from design review and factory testing to final integrated systems testing (IST) and facility handover.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent military training (e.g., Navy Nuclear program).
5–10 years of commissioning experience, with a heavy preference for Data Centers, Semiconductor Fabs, or similar high-reliability industrial facilities.
Familiarity with NETA testing standards and ASHRAE commissioning guidelines.
Experience with commissioning software (e.g., CxAlloy, Bluebeam, Procore) and power monitoring systems (EPMS/SCADA).

Responsibilities

Execute Level 1–5 commissioning for critical systems, including UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supplies), MV/LV Switchgear, Generators, ATS/STS, and PDUs.
Develop and review commissioning plans, Functional Performance Tests (FPT), and Integrated System Testing (IST) scripts.
Identify, document, and resolve complex electrical faults and design discrepancies during the startup phase.
Analyze one-line diagrams, schematics, and submittals to ensure compliance with owner project requirements (OPR).
Enforce strict adherence to NFPA 70E and LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures on-site.
Act as a technical liaison between owners, contractors, and vendors to ensure project milestones are met safely.
