About The Position

This position is responsible for supervising and leading the Portland Aftermarket Product Launch team. This team is responsible for ensure part readiness, serviceability, and documenting the Engineering direction for all Series and PAR projects. This includes supersession management, introduction of new technologies and supporting service needs, project reporting, and major project initial PDC stock management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years of relevant experience or 8+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience leading and developing employees in a manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, aftermarket, or related environment.
  • Decision maker for daily activities that are guided by policy, procedures, and business plans with oversight from manager.
  • Demonstrates understanding and application of procedures and concepts related to job field as well as basic knowledge of other related work areas.
  • Coordinates the resources of team and set daily priorities to meet operational objectives.
  • Primarily supervises the work of entry and intermediate level professional individual contributors or large numbers of shop floor employees in operations, manufacturing, and/or logistics.
  • Interprets and administers policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to use tact and diplomacy to exchange information, handle sensitive issues, and translate, simplify, and clarify information for employees.
  • Responsible for staffing decisions such as hiring, firing, rewarding, training, and developing employees
  • Experience supporting engineering change processes, service parts operations, or product lifecycle management activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical and operational data and make sound business decisions.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and influence outcomes with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, project management, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in Engineering, Supply Chain, and/or Manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Proven PC skills using MS Office Suite. Including advanced Excel abilities: Pivot Tables, Visual Basic Macros
  • Experience and working knowledge with SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI, SmartSheet, Snowflake and DTNA used Database including HANA tables
  • DTNA IMS and Paragon systems.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team which analyzes engineering change notices and determines service documentation data requirements.
  • Identify the need for service related parts (i.e. assemblies, sets, kits, etc.).
  • Work closely with Parts Catalog Team, New Material Load, Purchasing, Pricing, Supplier Management, Service, Material Planning, Warranty, Program Management, Engineering, Global Service Parts (Daimler Germany) and others to ensure appropriate service parts support.
  • Support new product introductions through engagement and leadership regarding new parts to be stocked at the PDC and dealer recommended and/or required stocking levels.
  • Ensure proper interpretation of Engineering data interchangeability and effectively; and how it affects service.
  • Work with cross functional teams and apply TOS principles to continually improve systems and processes.
  • Support cross-functional collaboration in continuous improvement activities focused on providing the best customer experience (CX) possible.
  • Develop data quality metrics and performance criteria related to documentation quality, throughput, and rework.
  • Ensure Engineering changes impacting production are documented for clear Aftermarket serviceability.
  • Escalate off-track project deliverables via appropriate channels and committees.
  • Report project status updates via Aftermarket Supply Chain, Aftermarket Product Project Committee, and Aftermarket Launch Readiness forums.
  • Maintain Aftermarket parts status integrity including Activations, Deactivations, Supersessions, and End Of Life (EOL) designations to ensure segregation of Active and Inactive parts in Paragon.
  • Manage and Maintain Aftermarket Franchise Codes in Paragon to ensure Aftermarket Parts are made available for ordering to only the appropriate dealer groups.
