About The Position

This role involves delivering commissary goods to detainees and performing duties independently on housing units. The position requires competent operation of commissary equipment, including software and ordering systems, and transporting goods from the receiving dock to storage. Responsibilities also include assisting with inventory counts, maintaining a clean storage area, and handling situations that require prompt attention and reporting. The individual must be able to retain, follow, and implement instructions.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED
• Must have a valid driver's license
• All applicants must clear a federal background check, e-QIP (where applicable), before offers are final
• No Criminal Record – No Arrests
• Ability to pass a drug test
• Two (2) years full-time, wage-earning experience
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
• Assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing of objects weighing in excess of 75 pounds
• Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift
• Move at a speed that is required to respond to work situations (e. g., run, walk, jog)
• Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e. g., small print)
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e. g., to identify defects)
• Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
• Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces

Nice To Haves

• Preferably with a commissary, retail sales, or inventory management background
• (1) year full-time, wage-earning correctional custody or law enforcement experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver commissary goods to detainees
• Satisfactorily perform duties alone on the housing units/floors for periods of time
• Competently operate Commissary equipment including software and ordering system
• Transport goods from the receiving dock to the assigned location or Commissary shelf storage facility
• Assist with taking weekly counts of all inventory
• Maintain a clean storage area and use proper trash containers
• Handle situations that require prompt attention and/or action and immediately report issues
• Retain, follow, and implement general information and detailed instructions
