About The Position

The Commissary Supervisor will successfully oversee the daily operations of the pier utility staff, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and up to standard. They will maintain high levels of cleanliness and safety, manage inventory, and provide exceptional service to both guests and crew.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least two (2) years of previous experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality or restaurant industry.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic personality essential
  • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to take direction.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information effectively to guests, coworkers, and suppliers.
  • Must possess a service orientation – actively looking for ways to help others.
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Microsoft Office: Excel/ Word/ PowerPoint/ Outlook proficiency
  • Will work for extended periods without sitting
  • Required to lift furniture and other heavy items up and down stairs
  • Will be required to be available for work on major holidays
  • Ability to work onboard a moving vessel in varying weather and sea conditions, including maintaining balance and stability while underway.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, frequently throughout a shift.
  • Ability to navigate stairs, ladders, narrow passageways, and confined spaces commonly found onboard vessels.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull supplies, equipment, and inventory weighing up to 40 pounds independently.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, and perform repetitive motions as required in food service and hospitality operations.
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively during normal operations, guest service situations, and emergency procedures.
  • Ability to safely work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to moving equipment, wet surfaces, temperature variations, and moderate noise levels.
  • Ability to visually inspect service areas, food presentation, cleanliness standards, and safety conditions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, crew members, and management in person and via radio or other communication devices.
  • Successfully complete vessel-specific safety and emergency training.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily activities of the pier utility attendants, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and up to standard.
  • Provide training and guidance to new and existing staff on proper procedures and safety protocols.
  • Ensure all food and supplies are received, handled, and stored correctly, maintaining accurate records of temperature control, labeling, and dating.
  • Confirm that all deliveries are complete and invoiced accurately, addressing any issues with suppliers, and coordinating with the BOH team leads to discrepancies.
  • Implement and maintain cleaning schedules for the pier areas, ensuring all spaces are kept clean, safe, and sanitary.
  • Uphold the values of the Safety and Service System, ensuring both guests and crew experience a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Enter and manage data in specified programs, maintaining accurate records for inventory and deliveries.
  • Be prepared to begin work at the scheduled time.
  • Maintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management to support overall operations.
