About The Position

Flour Bakery + Cafe is hiring a full-time Production Prep Cook for their commissary kitchen in the Seaport. This role requires flexible availability and reports to the Savory Production Chefs, with direction also coming from Production Shift Leads and Commissary Managers. The primary focus is completing the daily production list, prioritizing items based on delivery timing to specific locations. Prep Cooks are expected to communicate any issues that may impact on-time completion and assist coworkers within the Savory department.

Requirements

At least one year of professional kitchen experience required.
Must be able to maintain grooming and uniform standards.
Ability to stand for long periods, walk, push, pull, reach, and lift < 50 lbs.
Excellent sense of urgency and hospitality.
Ability to take feedback and direction.
Excellent attendance, reliability, communication and interpersonal skills.
Effective time management skills.
Willingness to work in a team and help all other departments, as needed.

Responsibilities

Support coworkers to ensure prep is done efficiently.
Follow all recipes and techniques in food preparation.
Assess ingredient quality from vendors and overall product quality.
Provide constructive feedback.
Handle food and clean stations per standard sanitation procedures.
Assist with kitchen upkeep and deep cleaning tasks when production list is complete.
Assist with checking in orders.
Maintain an orderly and clean kitchen.
Check in each day when arriving and leaving with the Production Shift Leader or Production Chef.
Inventory finished product and write appropriate prep lists that meet all finished good pars.
Prioritize items each day based on which loop the items travel and communicate any issues with timing.
Perform other duties as assigned.
