About The Position
Joseph’s Classic Market is seeking a Commissary Meat Associate to join their team. This role is crucial in preparing high-quality meats and products for their stores daily. The position offers hands-on experience in meat preparation, food safety, and production operations within a high-volume commissary environment. Team members can develop technical skills with specialized equipment and learn proper cutting techniques, product handling, and inventory processes. Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Spanish language skills required
Nice To Haves
- Meat cutting or food production experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Maintain Joseph’s standards for product freshness, quality, and sanitation
- Cut, trim, bone, and grind meats according to production needs
- Prepare and package products, including handmade sausages and other meat items
- Weigh, label, and properly store products in refrigerators or freezers
- Operate meat department equipment such as knives, grinders, mixers, and scales
- Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas to meet health and safety standards
- Operate knives, grinder, scale, mixer, and other Meat equipment
- Assist with other tasks as assigned
