About The Position

This position is represented by a labor Union and is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. A Commissary Attendant is responsible for the final assembly of trolleys in the commissary department. Each group of trolleys is assembled according to the type and size of the flight for which they are being used.

Requirements

  • Obtain and maintain, a Transport Canada Security Clearance
  • Work an assigned schedule which may include days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Manage your time and prioritize tasks in a fast paced, time sensitive environment
  • Work in a detailed and methodical manner while adhering to tight timelines dictated by the airline industry
  • Work overtime when required
  • Pass a criminal background check
  • Follow directions and communicate with supervisors and co-workers
  • Work as a member of a team within their department and work closely with various other departments

Responsibilities

  • Replacing bar and pop carts and catering carts as they come back from the airplane.
  • Checking flight bill – the worker reviews the flight bills to determine what items are required for each flight.
  • Commissary trolleys that have been rebuilt are brought over to the assembly area by the commissary attendant.
  • The assembler stages the trolleys according to flight number.
  • Headsets, hampers and satchels are added, as requested, to the trolleys to complete the flight.
