Job Summary Responsible for performing the tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing and distributing of products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Picks and fills orders, lifts items as heavy as 35 pounds and is required to use weighing scales, pallet handlers and hand trucks. Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped and received. The Shipper - Receiver works collaboratively with internal resources at various levels to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year relevant work experience in warehouse and inventory management
  • Ability to establish trust and credibility at all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to prioritize assignments.
  • Good communication skills and process planning.
  • Proficient computer skills including ERP and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to effectively respond to shifting priorities.
  • Must be proficient in spoken and written English.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with systems implementation (i.e. ERP, warehouse management systems, etc.) considered an important asset
  • Epicor experience an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Physical picking and packing of orders for Automation equipment and consumables.
  • Use of automated and manual shipping systems (i.e. UPS, Purolator, Canada post).
  • Organize and prepare equipment for transportation to customer or showcase sites.
  • Make transportation arrangements to ensure equipment arrives on time and is delivered by the safest and most economical method.
  • Physical receiving of parts, materials, supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure related shipping and receiving paperwork are appropriately completed, processed through ERP system and forwarded to Accounting when applicable.
  • Occasionally bring packages to appropriate courier depot or directly to airport for rush (emergency) shipments in support of after-hours shipping (or after transport pick-up).
  • Provide occasional support to Automation Customer Service Representatives by tracking and tracing shipments and following up on orders when requested (phone and e-mail support).
  • Establish and utilize best methods (including statistical models and software) to monitor and report on inventory levels of finished goods and consumables and place orders as required
  • Work collaboratively with adjacent departments and management to continuously improve forecasting techniques, method, and approach
