The Collision Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and restoring collision-damaged motorcoaches, buses, and commercial vehicles. This role performs structural repairs, component teardown and reassembly, welding, fabrication, frame alignment, and related collision repair activities to safely return vehicles to service. Working in a fast-paced shop environment, the Collision Technician delivers high-quality workmanship while maintaining compliance with company safety standards and applicable regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in a collision repair facility, commercial vehicle repair shop, or similar environment.
  • Welding experience or completion of a welding certification program required.
  • Experience with post pulling equipment and structural frame repair.
  • Knowledge of laser alignment procedures and collision repair techniques.
  • Ability to interpret repair procedures and safely operate collision repair equipment.
  • Must provide personal tools necessary to perform assigned responsibilities.

  • Wear required personal protective equipment while performing assigned duties.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect damaged buses, motorcoaches, and commercial vehicles to determine repair requirements.
  • Diagnose structural and collision-related damage using appropriate repair procedures.
  • Perform component teardown and reassembly to support collision repairs.
  • Repair or replace damaged structural components and assemblies.
  • Restore vehicles to manufacturer and company quality standards.
  • Perform welding and fabrication required to complete structural repairs.
  • Operate post pulling equipment, frame repair systems, and other collision repair equipment.
  • Utilize laser alignment procedures and measuring systems to verify structural integrity.
  • Ensure repairs meet quality and safety requirements before vehicles are returned to service.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Properly utilize shop tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain personal tools necessary to perform assigned responsibilities.
  • Document repairs and communicate repair status with leadership as needed.
  • Support other technicians and shop personnel to meet production goals.
  • Travel as required to support customer locations or special projects.
  • Work overtime or weekends when business needs require.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
