About The Position

This role involves determining the degree of risk on commercial policies, reviewing loss history, and making decisions on policy applications and existing policies. The Commercial Underwriter will also initiate inspections, provide underwriting assistance to the agency force, and handle treaty exception requests. Additionally, the role includes acting as the Flood Coordinator, participating in meetings and special projects, and developing the Commercial Procedure Manual.

Requirements

• Experience in commercial underwriting.
• Ability to determine risk on commercial policies.
• Skills in reviewing loss history.
• Proficiency in evaluating, accepting, modifying, rejecting, canceling, and non-renewing policies.
• Capability to initiate inspections and field audits.
• Strong communication skills to provide underwriting assistance.
• Experience handling treaty exception requests.
• Ability to act as Flood Coordinator.
• Willingness to attend meetings and participate in special projects.
• Skills in developing and maintaining procedure manuals.
• Reliable and predictable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Determine the degree of risk on commercial policies.

• Handle all duties associated with treaty exception requests.

• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Regular and predictable attendance is required.
