About The Position

WCF Insurance, an "A" rated carrier growing throughout the western states, has an immediate opening for a Commercial Underwriter on the Small Business team in the Denver, CO area. This full-time, exempt position reports to the Director of Underwriting and offers the opportunity for hybrid work (Tuesday through Thursday in-office). Requirements

At least three years commercial underwriting experience in all business lines
Working knowledge of NCCI and state bureau manuals, rules and classifications.
Experience with loss sensitive rating programs.
Expert skills in Microsoft Office Suite, excel experience required.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, verbal and written.
Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, analytical skills.
Must have 5 years of related experience for the senior level.

Nice To Haves

CPCU, ARM, CIC or similar certifications preferred.
Bachelor's degree in finance, marketing, business, or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Applies quantitative and qualitative analysis along with sound underwriting principals to evaluate new and renewal account risks.
Manages a book of business for growth, profitability, and retention.
Initiates and handles agent relationships through service calls and occasional in-person visits.
Provides a thorough, documented risk analysis on new and renewal accounts leading to a recommendation on coverage terms and premium.
