Commercial Truck Service Technician - Decatur, AL
About The Position
As a Commercial Mechanic, you will work at our Wilks Truck Center location providing light mechanical service and tire service to the Commercial Trucking industry. You will perform light mechanical service and tire service on commercial trucks, RVs, and trailers. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to performing light mechanical maintenance, alignments, front-end suspension work, brake and air system services, and DOT annual inspections. You will determine service requirements from commercial truck drivers, communicate them to the Service Supervisor and/or Service Technicians, and properly execute the required service ticket for management. You will also respond in a timely manner to customer service calls, diagnosing issues, and performing on-site repairs and/or replacements. Additionally, you will clean and maintain service equipment, perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods (including lifting commercial tires and wheels, standing, bending, and squatting), report safety issues immediately to management, help keep the shop clean and organized, and maintain a professional appearance. Any other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Commercial experience including brakes, oil changes, front end work, all wheel position alignments.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Have your own tools
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Commitment to follow all safety procedures and comply with OSHA regulations and safety requirements.
- Must be a self-starter and willing to take initiative, able and willing to work without direct supervision, and be willing to attend appropriate training sessions.
- Strong work ethic; independently motivated to produce results with limited influence from others.
- Hard worker, someone who works diligently to get tasks done and demonstrates personal characteristics, such as responsibility, dependability, conscientiousness, communication, and teamwork.
- Display a commitment to learning new technologies within the rapidly changing industry.

Nice To Haves
