About The Position
McMahon’s Best-One is a family-owned company established in Fort Wayne in 1969. We are dedicated to our customers, the services we offer, our local community, and our employees. We are currently seeking Commercial Tire Technicians to join our expanding team at our Bryan, Ohio location. A McMahon's Best-One commercial tire technician is a skilled professional responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining, and balancing tires on heavy-duty fleet vehicles such as semi-trucks, buses, construction machinery, and agricultural equipment. This role involves working both in a service shop and in the field to provide emergency roadside assistance.
Requirements
- Must perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner.
- Must have a valid driver’s license; driving record must meet company’s insurance requirements.
- Position requires continuous standing, bending, lifting and ability to lift up to 50+ pounds.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced customer service-oriented environment.
- Team Player: Works well as a member of a group.
- Detail Oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check/drug screen.
Responsibilities
- Remove, install, rotate, balance, and perform flat repairs on commercial and large equipment tires (in shop or at customer location).
- Prepare retreads (discuss tread with customer, prepare work order, put in staging area, load in truck).
- Unload treads from truck and stack in warehouse area.
- Raise and lower vehicles safely with hydraulic or floor jacks.
- Safely operate all shop machinery.
- Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment.
- Read work orders thoroughly and perform all listed tasks.
- Perform all applicable tasks within company’s time standards.
- Read ticket and perform work listed; write confirmation and recommendation.
