Commercial Thawing Technician
About The Position
Join Trans Ova Genetics as a Commercial Thawing Technician and play a key role in preparing embryos for transfer in a fast-paced environment! This position typically works Tuesday through Saturday with a 3 am - 4 am start time, allowing you to finish your day before noon. Requirements
- Education Requirements: B.S. in Animal Science or a related field; or a Veterinary Technician degree.
- Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Ability to sit for long periods of time behind a microscope.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
- Handling dexterity is required for manipulation of equipment and small objects.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, and peripheral vision, color/pattern recognition, depth perception, and ability to adjust to focus
- Ability to work with liquid nitrogen.
- Other skills/experience: Strong attention to detail and organization.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to interact well with internal and external clients.
- Strong communication skills
Responsibilities
- Grading embryos according to IETS standards.
- Data Entry.
- Thawing frozen embryos.
- Assisting with fresh and frozen transfers.
- Maintain a professional image reflective of TOG’s industry position.
- Inventory Management (both supplies and frozen embryo inventory).
