About The Position

Corning is seeking a Commercial Technology Specialist to join our Data Center team as the primary technical liaison between key customer accounts and Corning's technology and product organizations. In this role, you will identify customer network architecture needs, uncover emerging innovation opportunities, and translate those insights into new product and solution strategies. This is a high-visibility role at the intersection of customer engagement, technical depth, and new product commercialization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in the Data Center cabling infrastructure industry
  • Demonstrated experience engaging directly with customers to define technical requirements and drive solution adoption

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the Hyperscale Data Center market and its associated business dynamics
  • Knowledge of Inside Plant (ISP) and Outside Plant (OSP) network design and cabling solutions
  • Knowledge of Technology Vendor architectures and how third-party products interface with cabling infrastructure
  • Knowledge of fiber optic theory, products, and installation methods

Responsibilities

  • Engage directly with Data Center customers to identify network architecture requirements, pain points, and technology inflection points — translating insights into actionable product and solution development opportunities
  • Partner with sales and product teams to drive adoption of new cabling solutions, supporting customer qualification processes and field trials
  • Lead Voice of Customer (VOC) research to develop a deep understanding of current and future customer needs within target accounts
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, engineering, and marketing to advance technology development projects from ideation through commercialization
  • Monitor the competitive landscape and track emerging technology substitution risks to position Corning for long-term growth in the Data Center market
