Commercial Support Specialist
About The Position
The Commercial Support Specialist provides operational and administrative support to commercial relationship managers, commercial underwriters, and business members, ensuring efficient delivery of business banking services. This position will be instrumental in processing, servicing, and reporting all commercial loans and digital lending originations that include quality assurance of files, boarding and ticklers. The specialist monitors and processes construction draw requests, assists with perfecting and maintaining the credit union’s security interest in collateral, and contributes to department monthly reporting.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- Three or more years of previous related experience
- Attention to detail and ability to notice discrepancies in data.
- Knowledge of required loan documentation and lien perfection.
- Familiarity with commercial lending practices and policies.
- General knowledge and understanding of construction loans and loan processing
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and decision-making capabilities.
Nice To Haves
- Degree or advanced certification in accounting or finance related field preferred.
- Knowledge of financial institution lending regulations and HMDA reporting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Executes workflow to ensure efficiency and accuracy of process from loan application to loan closing.
- Order appraisals, title work, environmental reports, and related supporting documentation.
- Prepares accurate and compliant loan closing documents for Commercial, Commercial Real Estate Construction, Commercial Small Business and SBA loan requests prior to closing.
- Verifies all loan conditions are satisfied before proceeding with closing.
- Completes a post close review of executed documents for any missing documents or document deficiencies and creates any follow up for them.
- Completes file assembly, digital archive and updates to tickler system.
- Monitors commercial construction loan activities, completes construction draws ensuring accuracy with well supported documentation, site inspections, and progress reports reflecting on-time and on-budget performance.
- Send wire transfers for loan payoffs and disbursements for closing.
- Ensure that loan files are complete, accurate, and properly documented, in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory standards.
- Review monthly originations for HMDA designated commercial loans and upload/create HMDA records in designated commercial compliance platform.
- Verify HMDA records in commercial compliance platform are accurate.
