About The Position

Reporting to the Plant Administration Supervisor, the Commercial Support Specialist provides administrative and commercial support to the oilseed value chain, including local origination activities, truck meal sales, logistics coordination, and commodity settlements. This role works closely with producers, customers, and internal teams to ensure accurate transaction processing, inventory verification, and exceptional customer service.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in customer service supporting both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong mathematical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary education is preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of administrative and/or accounting experience preferred.
  • Exposure to agribusiness operations and commodity transactions is considered an asset.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make timely decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience with SAP GTM, SAP Business Warehouse, or similar enterprise systems is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key contact for customer support activities, particularly in the absence of the Plant Administration Supervisor.
  • Support commodity purchase settlements, receipts, and producer payment processing.
  • Communicate with producers to collect and verify payment instructions.
  • Manage and track commodity-related expenses, including freight and hauling costs.
  • Coordinate documentation for internal and external audits, including SOX compliance requirements.
  • Complete accounts payable activities, including cheque processing, EFT payments, and government levy calculations.
  • Provide support for logistics reporting and inventory verification activities.
  • Coordinate records management, archival activities, and off-site storage requirements.
  • Maintain headcount tracking and reporting.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements.
  • Assist various departments with administrative tasks and general office support.
  • Perform other duties as required.
