About The Position

The Commercial Summer Internship Program is designed to give interns a look at Citizens Bank’s culture and exposure into one of the many commercial banking business lines through project-based assignments, learning curriculum, networking, volunteer opportunities and formal mentorship. Responsibilities will vary based on the group you’re assigned to and will leverage your unique skills and abilities. At the conclusion of the program, high-performing interns will receive early consideration for full-time opportunities within the line of business in which they completed their summer internship.

Requirements

  • Successfully complete a video interview assessment within 4 days of receiving the link.
  • Current students enrolled in an undergraduate bachelor’s program, graduating between Winter 2027 – Spring 2028 OR current students enrolled in a graduate program, graduating between Winter 2027 – Spring 2028
  • Minimum GPA of 3.2
  • Strong analytical skills and software skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency is required.
  • Candidates must currently be a U.S. Resident to be eligible for this program.
  • Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.5.
  • Relevant work experience, leadership experience or coursework in Finance, Accounting or Economics is preferred but all majors will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Support loan underwriting, portfolio monitoring, and business development efforts for Healthcare commercial banking clients.
  • Conduct financial and credit analysis, prepare financial models and credit approval materials, monitor client reporting and covenant compliance, perform industry and market research, and participate in client meetings, team discussions, and special projects.
  • Work as part of a commercial client coverage team, partnering with Portfolio Managers, Credit Analysts, and Relationship Managers to support loan underwriting, portfolio monitoring, and business development efforts.
  • Gain hands-on experience in financial and credit analysis, financial modeling, market and industry research, and the preparation of credit approval materials, client presentations, and transaction documentation.
  • Gain exposure to client interactions, deal screenings, credit approval meetings, and broader commercial banking activities.
  • Support high-visibility projects and daily operations within Treasury Solutions while conducting research, analytics, and project management for strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with leaders and teams across the business to gain a comprehensive understanding of Treasury Solutions and present recommendations and insights to senior executives.
