About The Position

Hunt Electric, Inc. is seeking a full-time Electrical Service Technician Apprentice to join their Service Department. This role offers the opportunity to grow and expand knowledge in electrical work, including installing electrical systems, troubleshooting and resolving electrical problems quickly and efficiently, and becoming well-rounded in all aspects of the trade. The apprentice will need to adapt to changing codes, regulations, and safety requirements, and possess the ability to troubleshoot, pull wire, bend pipe, and compute electrical formulas. The position requires knowledge to install control circuits and other components, and the capability to read, interpret, and understand electrical plans, complex circuit schematics, and blueprints. The company is looking for well-rounded individuals with good customer service skills.

Requirements

  • Adapt to changing codes, regulations, and safety requirements
  • Ability to troubleshoot, pull wire, bend pipe and compute electrical formulas
  • Knowledge to install control circuits and other components
  • Capabilities to read, interpret, and understand electrical plans, complex circuit schematics, and blueprints
  • Good customer service skills
  • Be respectful and courteous at all times
  • Problem solving skills
  • Leave job site cleaner than when it was when you got there
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean MVR for the past 7 years
  • Operating vehicles and equipment
  • Ability to work with other trades
  • Experience in all aspects of electrical systems including commercial, industrial, residential, electrical efficiency, fire alarm, lighting control systems, lighting types, heat tape, and experience with Xcel Energy and other electrical utility guidelines
  • Be flexible with constant changes and moving around

Responsibilities

  • Respond to jobs as scheduled by coordinator and manager
  • Be proficient in analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues
  • Keep van stocked as described with material per the list provided by manager
  • Always drive van in a professional and courteous manner
  • Keep van clean, organized and ensure all tools are maintained and accounted for
  • Always maintain a neat and presentable appearance
  • Order materials as required for job completion
  • Fill out paperwork daily and turn in as directed by manager
  • Upon leaving let customer know you are finished and verify satisfaction
  • Ensure work order is signed prior to leaving site
  • Utilize basic computer skills including Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Sell service whenever possible and when in areas with other businesses around
  • Leave a card or pamphlet with each completed project
  • Work together with other technicians and managers on ideas for improvement
  • Support other technicians to create an environment of positive communication
  • Show customers sense of urgency, discuss the project with them, if needed, and complete work in a timely manner
  • Actively contributes to a positive team mentality
  • Demonstrates dependability with regular attendance and compliance to scheduled work hours
  • Demonstrates a knowledge of the National Electric Code
  • Be a self starter
  • Other duties or locations as assigned by Manager
