About The Position

Skillforce has teamed up with a leading electrical contractor to find a skilled Commercial Roofing Project Manager to work on commercial roofing and waterproofing projects from initial award through final completion. This is a full-time, direct hire position based in the Washington DC area with local travel to job sites. This position will manage project finances, scheduling, materials, documentation, client communication, and coordination with field personnel to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to contract requirements. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced construction environment.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of construction project management experience; commercial roofing or waterproofing experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of commercial roofing systems, materials, and installation methods.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, documentation, and billing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with construction/project management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial roofing and waterproofing projects throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Review project plans, specifications, contracts, and scope requirements.
  • Coordinate submittits, shop drawings, materials, and equipment to keep projects moving on schedule.
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, billing, and overall financial performance.
  • Prepare progress billings, invoices, and project status reports.
  • Identify changes in scope and assist with pricing and processing change orders.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
  • Work closely with Superintendents and field crews to coordinate project schedules and resolve issues.
  • Visit active jobsites regularly to monitor progress, quality, safety, and contract compliance.
  • Address challenges involving weather, scheduling, manpower, materials, and other field conditions.
  • Maintain accurate project records, including labor, equipment, change orders, and other documentation.
  • Participate in pre-construction, progress, and closeout meetings as needed.
  • Ensure safety requirements and project procedures are followed.
  • Coordinate project closeout, including punch lists, warranties, final documentation, and customer follow-up.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Perform additional project-related duties as needed.
