Flynn Group of Companies is seeking a Roofing Operations Manager where the focus is on commercial roofing. The position is based in our Salt Lake City, UT location. We are currently searching for an exceptional Manager to lead our growing Commercial Roofing Division.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems required
  • Knowledge of roofing systems required (EPDM, TPO, PVC, etc.)
  • Accounting knowledge required
  • Computer proficiency in (Bluebeam and MS Suite) and ability to learn new Project management software’s as well as proprietary Flynn software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines, while providing exemplary customer service.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish is a Plus
  • 10 or more years of experience in Commercial Roofing industry preferred
  • B.S. degree in Business, Construction Management or related educational field preferred
  • Knowledge of sheet metal work is an asset
  • Engineering and/or drafting experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for building a high‑performing, cohesive team and establishing consistent, reliable continuity across all roles and functions.
  • Lead, manage, and support division staff in day-to-day strategic activities.
  • Ability to meet goals and maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Lead in the development and implementation of organization policies, best practices, procedures and attainment of operating goals for your team.
  • Represent company in new business opportunities through contact with individuals who are a critical part of new project opportunities. Secure follow-up work with existing clients based on past performance.
  • Lead and delegate project teams by providing guidance and direction.
  • Qualify bids and collaborate with the Estimating team through Bid reviews
  • Oversee performance of projects to ensure safety, quality, profitability and timely execution of work.
  • Provide supervision, training, development, and performance management of direct reports including performance reviews.
  • Ensure effective scheduling of all items/actions required to complete a project on time and on budget.
  • Establish and maintain client relationships and develop a high level of trust and credibility with clients, alliance partners, subcontractors and project teams.
  • Meet with the branch management team to review project financials and overall progress of division. Identify any projects that may be in trouble and resolution for getting back on track.
  • Report identified potential business risk elements and design and implement mitigation efforts.
  • Build and maintain relationships between industry leaders, associations and organizations.
  • Exercise global decision making by considering other departments within the company such as project management, sales, estimating, accounting, purchasing, etc.
  • Monitor and report on operational activities, staff and budget projections.
