Commercial Roofing Inspector - West Haven, CT
About The Position
Nations Roof, a leading commercial roofing company, is seeking a Commercial Roofing Inspector for its West Haven, CT location. This full-time role is ideal for experienced commercial roofing professionals who enjoy field work, customer interaction, and problem-solving. The inspector will support the Service Department by inspecting commercial roofs, identifying issues, and recommending repair solutions to help customers protect their facilities. The position involves working closely with Service Managers and field teams to provide accurate evaluations, detailed reports, and recommendations for quality service and long-term customer relationships.
Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial roofing experience.
- Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems including TPO, PVC, EPDM, Modified Bitumen, BUR, metal roofing, roof coatings, and waterproofing systems.
- Ability to identify roofing deficiencies, determine root causes, and recommend practical repair solutions.
- Comfortable climbing ladders, walking commercial rooftops, and working outdoors.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build customer relationships and explain technical information in a clear, professional manner.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to complete thorough inspection reports using an iPad/tablet.
- Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Inspect commercial roofing systems and evaluate their overall condition.
- Identify leaks, storm damage, roof deficiencies, and maintenance needs.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports with photos, repair recommendations, and maintenance priorities using a company-issued iPad/tablet.
- Meet with customers on-site to explain findings and recommend repair and maintenance solutions.
- Develop repair scopes that support service proposals and project planning.
- Work closely with Service Managers, Estimators, and field crews to deliver quality solutions.
- Identify preventative maintenance opportunities and help customers extend the life of their roofing systems.
- Maintain accurate inspection documentation and customer records using mobile technology.
- Represent the company professionally while delivering outstanding customer service.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
