About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Refrigeration Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment. The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, dependable, safety-conscious, and committed to providing high-quality service to customers.

Requirements

  • Previous experience servicing commercial refrigeration systems preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to diagnose problems using meters, gauges, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • EPA Section 608 certification required.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Professional communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to lift equipment and parts and work in confined spaces, hot/cold environments, and on ladders or lifts.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional nights, weekends, and emergency calls.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of commercial refrigeration experience.
  • Experience with supermarkets, restaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores, or other commercial facilities.
  • HVAC/R certification or technical-school training.
  • Experience with electronic refrigeration controls and computerized monitoring systems.
  • Experience with ice machines and supermarket refrigeration systems.

Responsibilities

  • Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair commercial refrigeration systems and related equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration system issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration equipment to minimize downtime and equipment failures.
  • Work on walk-in coolers and freezers, reach-in units, ice machines, refrigerated display cases, prep tables, and other commercial refrigeration systems.
  • Check refrigerant levels, locate leaks, and perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, and charging as required.
  • Troubleshoot compressors, condensers, evaporators, thermostats, controls, motors, fans, contactors, relays, and other system components.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Maintain accurate service records, including work performed, parts used, equipment condition, and recommended repairs.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and explain equipment problems and recommended solutions.
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, service vehicles, and inventory in good working condition.
  • Follow all applicable safety procedures, refrigerant regulations, and company policies.
  • Respond to emergency service calls and after-hours requests when required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
