About The Position

Key Works Recycling is looking for a motivated Commercial Recycling Sales & Account Representative to help grow our customer base, increase route density, source recyclable materials, and provide outstanding service to our commercial customers. This is a hands-on territory sales position for someone who enjoys developing new business, meeting customers in the field, and building long-term relationships. You will generate leads through cold calls, site visits, referrals, networking, and direct prospecting while also managing and growing an assigned group of customer accounts.

Requirements

• Previous business-to-business sales, outside sales, route sales, account management, or customer-service experience.
• Confidence making cold calls and approaching prospective customers.
• Strong communication, customer-service, and relationship-building skills.
• A self-starter who is organized, dependable, and consistent with follow-up.
• Ability to balance new-business development with existing-account management.
• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
• Comfortable visiting commercial and industrial customer locations.

Nice To Haves

• Recycling, waste, hauling, transportation, logistics, or environmental-services experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prospect for new commercial recycling and waste-service customers.
• Make cold calls and conduct in-person visits throughout your territory.
• Source cardboard, paper, metals, plastics, glass, and other recyclable materials.
• Evaluate customer needs and recommend appropriate containers, equipment, pickup schedules, and recycling programs.
• Prepare proposals, present pricing, negotiate agreements, and close new business.
• Manage existing customer relationships and conduct regular account reviews.
• Respond to service, billing, equipment, and contamination concerns.
• Identify opportunities to add services, locations, commodities, or pickup frequency.
• Work closely with operations, dispatch, drivers, and accounting to ensure new accounts are set up correctly.
• Focus sales efforts within targeted areas to increase route density and improve service efficiency.
• Maintain accurate customer, proposal, and sales-pipeline information.
• Meet established goals for new accounts, inbound tons, customer retention, and territory growth.
