Under general supervision, the Commercial Real Estate Loan Underwriter I is responsible for supporting the credit union’s commercial real estate lending function through annual term loan reviews, portfolio monitoring, financial analysis, collateral review, and assistance with loan origination underwriting. This position evaluates borrower and guarantor financial performance, property cash flow, collateral position, covenant compliance, and related credit risks to support sound lending decisions and ongoing portfolio management. This role serves as an entry-level or developing commercial real estate underwriting position and is expected to build technical underwriting expertise while supporting Relationship Managers, Credit Administration, loan participants, and other internal stakeholders. The Commercial Real Estate Loan Underwriter II requires a stronger working knowledge and more extensive experience in commercial real estate underwriting, commercial credit analysis, real estate secured lending, collateral analysis, financial spreading, cash flow analysis, and credit structuring. This role also involves knowledge of commercial real estate loan documentation, covenant monitoring, risk rating analysis, appraisal review, environmental due diligence, portfolio monitoring, and credit administration practices. Experience with moderate-to-complex commercial real estate relationships, credit structuring, watch-list or criticized asset monitoring, and risk mitigation recommendations is desirable.
