About The Position

Platt Richmond is seeking a mid-level Commercial Real Estate Associate to join our growing practice. This role is designed for someone who already knows how deals work and is ready to take on more responsibility. You’ll be involved in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including development, joint ventures, acquisitions, dispositions, land use/zoning, leasing, and financing. Here, you'll: Work on sophisticated, high-value transactions while also running your own smaller deals Get direct client exposure early Take real ownership of transactions instead of just supporting a small piece of them What We're Looking For: Solid experience with development and joint venture transactions Comfortable and experienced in drafting and negotiating core deal documents (PSAs, leases, joint venture company agreements, loan documents) Someone who can operate independently but knows when to ask questions The Right Fit: This role is ideal for someone who: Is driven, detail oriented, and looking to take on more responsibility Values high-quality work but doesn’t want the big law lifestyle Enjoys working directly with clients and being part of a great team Is looking for high-quality deal experience, meaningful responsibility, and the ability to develop into a well-rounded real estate lawyer, this is the place

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of commercial real estate experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Intellectual curiosity and genuine interest in projects, rather than a “finish the task and forget about it” approach
  • Excellent communication and grammatical skills, both verbal and written
  • Genuine, authentic personality
  • Team player; takes direction well; receptive to constructive feedback
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • J.D. and Texas Bar Admittance

Responsibilities

  • Assist partners on a broad range of transactions
  • Prepare and/or negotiate letters of intent, purchase and sale agreements, title objection letters, leases, joint venture agreements, and financing documents
  • Conduct legal due diligence, including title and survey, land use/zoning, and environmental
  • Quarterback deal closings, including coordination with deal teams and title companies
  • Manage and delegate appropriate tasks to paralegals
  • Conduct deal status conferences
