About The Position

The Commercial Portfolio Officer is responsible for assisting Commercial Relationship Managers by helping maintain and grow a portfolio of commercial banking relationships while coordinating the needs of commercial portfolios as it related to needs of the Relationship Manager. The position serves as a strategic partner to Relationship Managers and clients by providing ongoing portfolio insight and assistance, identifying opportunities for growth, deepening customer relationships, facilitating cross-sell initiatives, and supporting the delivery of comprehensive commercial banking solutions.

Requirements

  • Five years to eight years of similar or related experience.
  • A bachelor's degree, or achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g. information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
  • High level of mathematical, language, writing, and independent reasoning skills.
  • Proficiency in word processing, excel, internet researching, multitasking, and spreadsheet software.
  • Must be capable of operating all types of office equipment including computer, copy machine, and telephone.

Responsibilities

  • Work within multiple portfolios of commercial banking relationships with a focus on client retention, relationship expansion, profitability, and overall portfolio performance.
  • Support relationship growth and portfolio optimization activities through portfolio analysis, client reviews, and strategic recommendations coordinating efforts between Commercial and Credit Administration.
  • Drive business development and client engagement initiatives with Relationship Managers and key clients.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and portfolio resource through industry knowledge and commercial banking expertise.
  • Support departmental leadership initiatives and team development.
