Join us and be a part of a team that puts people first! EMR is currently hiring for an experienced Commercial Planning & Inventory Analyst to join our Commercial team. This is not a traditional Business Analyst or Operations Analyst position. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of the metals industry, inventory allocation, commercial planning, and supply chain operations. You will be responsible for optimizing inventory allocation across multiple facilities to ensure customer commitments, commercial priorities, production capabilities, and available inventory remain aligned. Working closely with Sales, Commercial, Logistics, and Operations, you will make data-driven decisions that maximize inventory utilization, improve profitability, and ensure customers receive the right material at the right time. Candidates with experience in scrap metal recycling, commodity trading, metals manufacturing, foundries, metal service centers, or industrial supply chain planning are strongly encouraged to apply. This role will be worked 100% onsite in Camden, NJ and pays $75000 - 90000 per year

Requirements

  • Experience working in the metals industry is required
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Finance, Operations, Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of ferrous and/or non-ferrous metals, including material grades, specifications, and commercial applications
  • Experience managing inventory allocation, inventory planning, commercial operations, supply chain planning, or logistics coordination
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, complex formulas, and data analysis
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound business decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with ERP systems and business reporting tools

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the scrap metal recycling industry is strongly preferred
  • Experience in commodity trading or commercial operations
  • Experience with inventory allocation, stock analysis, sales planning, shipment coordination, and contract fulfillment
  • Exposure to non-ferrous metals, including copper, brass, aluminum, stainless steel, or nickel-bearing alloys
  • Experience with process automation, reporting tools, or continuous improvement initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize inventory allocation across multiple facilities.
  • Allocate inventory to customer contracts, sales orders, and commercial commitments based on material quality, specifications, customer requirements, logistics, and business priorities.
  • Monitor inventory levels, production forecasts, sales bookings, and shipment schedules to ensure customer commitments are fulfilled.
  • Identify inventory shortages, surpluses, allocation risks, and opportunities while developing proactive solutions.
  • Analyze commodity inventories and recommend strategies that improve inventory turnover and maximize profitability.
  • Partner with Commercial, Sales, Logistics, Operations, and Administrative teams to coordinate inventory deployment and customer deliveries.
  • Track allocation priorities, shipment schedules, inventory availability, and customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain reports related to inventory positions, commercial allocations, shipment priorities, bookings, and overall business performance.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities that increase planning accuracy, operational efficiency, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Support business continuity through documentation, reporting, and knowledge sharing.
