About The Position

Essity Professional Hygiene North America is seeking an experienced Commercial Planning & Activation Manager. This role is crucial for driving customer-focused commercial execution by integrating planning, activation, and performance management. The manager will collaborate closely with Sales leadership and various cross-functional teams to ensure strategic alignment and coordinated initiatives, thereby supporting effective field execution. Serving as a central point of alignment, this position aims to simplify processes, identify misalignments early, and provide Sales with the necessary insights and clarity to accelerate growth. The role reports to the Senior Commercial Planning & Activation Manager and involves working with Marketing, Commercial Analytics, Finance, and Business Development. This high-impact, remote position is ideal for a collaborative team player who thrives in complex environments and is adept at translating strategy into tangible results. The ideal candidate should be located near a US international airport due to travel requirements and embody Essity's values of leadership, challenge, expertise, and motivation, continuously seeking improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Sales & Marketing preferred
  • 5+ years' experience including a combination of field sales, sales operations, sales enablement, sales leadership/management, and/or Commercial Excellence roles.
  • Experience working within large, matrixed organizations and working cross functionally with other functions
  • Broad B2B industry experiences with distribution channels and field sales
  • Excellent business acumen, strategic planning, analytical, communication, project management, and change management skills.
  • Customer success obsession and a bold passion for working towards results and customer satisfaction
  • Excellent communicator able to assemble and clearly articulate key strategies, plans and reports aligned to drive tangible business impact.
  • Strong listening and facilitation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, and strong listening and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively to drive for results and sense of urgency
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships on all levels
  • Strong organizational & collaborative skills and ability to work virtually with customers and internal teams.
  • Sound business acumen and sales financial understanding with ability to solve for customer needs
  • Ability to travel up to 20-25% domestic travel

  • Experience working CRM systems (i.e. Microsoft Dynamics) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Sales leadership to translate strategy into focused go to market execution with clear, actionable priorities for the field.
  • Lead commercial activation by defining priorities and coordinating cross‑functional execution.
  • Apply strong project management to drive initiatives end to end while balancing scope, timelines, and stakeholder needs.
  • Analyze commercial performance to identify insights and outliers that improve sales effectiveness and decision making.
  • Align cross functional teams to ensure consistent messaging, timing, and execution while resolving competing priorities or risks.
  • Drive adoption and accountability through clear communications, executive summaries, and continuous improvement of planning and activation processes.
