About The Position

Matthews Motors is seeking a Commercial Parts Consultant to join their growing, family-built commercial truck dealership and upfitter. This role is for an individual who knows how to deliver excellent service by helping technicians, fleets, and walk-in customers find the right parts quickly. The team values accuracy, hustle, and teamwork. The ideal candidate takes pride in their parts knowledge and in keeping trucks operational.

Requirements

2+ years of experience in truck, trailer, heavy-duty, or automotive parts.
Strong knowledge of parts lookup systems and cross-referencing.
Excellent communication and listening skills.
High attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
Experience with ERP or DMS systems.
Team-first attitude and willingness to go the extra mile for customers and coworkers.

Responsibilities

Source parts for technicians and walk-in customers courteously and quickly.
Advise customers on optimal parts solutions, including related components and companion items.
Create purchase orders and communicate with vendors regarding pricing, lead times, and special orders.
Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and awareness of new parts introductions.
Collaborate with service advisors and estimators to ensure complete repair orders.
Track inventory and backorders to maintain smooth shop operations.
Assist the team during busy periods, which may include occasional after-hours or overtime support.
Complete required training and stay current with evolving product lines.
