About The Position

EMR is seeking a highly analytical Commercial Operations Analyst to join our commercial team. In this role, you will manage and optimize inventory allocation across multiple facilities, ensuring customer commitments, production capabilities, and available inventory remain aligned. This position plays a critical role in connecting Commercial, Sales, Operations, and Logistics to maximize inventory utilization, improve profitability, and ensure on-time customer fulfillment. An understanding of metals is required, and experience in the scrap metal or metals recycling industry is strongly preferred. Candidates with experience in commodity trading, non-ferrous metals, or industrial manufacturing are encouraged to apply. This role will be worked 100% onsite in Camden, NJ and pays $75000 - 90000 per year

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Finance, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of metals, including material grades, specifications, and commercial applications.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Leadership experience or the ability to manage and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in commercial operations, inventory management, supply chain, logistics, commodity trading, or industrial manufacturing.
  • Experience with inventory allocation, sales planning, contract fulfillment, shipment coordination, and stock analysis.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, reporting tools, and process automation initiatives

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the scrap metal recycling industry is strongly preferred.
  • Exposure to non-ferrous metals, including copper, brass, and aluminum, is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize inventory allocation across multiple facilities.
  • Assign inventory to contracts, sales orders, and customer commitments based on material specifications, quality, logistics, and commercial priorities.
  • Monitor inventory levels, production forecasts, sales bookings, and shipment schedules to ensure customer commitments are met.
  • Identify inventory shortages, surpluses, risks, and opportunities while developing proactive solutions.
  • Analyze inventory performance and recommend strategies to improve inventory turnover and maximize profitability.
  • Partner with Sales, Commercial, Logistics, Operations, and Administrative teams to coordinate inventory allocation and customer deliveries.
  • Track allocation priorities, shipment schedules, inventory availability, and customer requirements.
  • Develop reports and dashboards to support inventory management, commercial planning, and business performance.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities that increase planning accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Support business continuity through process documentation and cross-functional knowledge sharing.
