About The Position

As a Commercial Mobile Mechanic, you will work based at our Wilks Truck Center location providing light mechanical service and tire service to the Commercial Trucking industry by traveling to the customer. You will perform light mechanical maintenance on commercial trucks and trailers, including emergency roadside repairs, lube, oil changes, filter service, alignments, front-end suspension, brakes & air systems, and DOT Annual Inspections. Responsibilities include determining service requirements from commercial truck drivers, communicating with management, executing service tickets, responding to customer calls, diagnosing issues, performing on-site repairs and/or replacements, cleaning and maintaining service equipment, and performing other duties as assigned by management. This role also involves performing a variety of manual tasks for extended periods, including lifting, standing, bending, and squatting, reporting safety issues, and helping to keep the shop clean and organized.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of Commercial experience including brakes, oil changes, front end work, all wheel position alignments.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have your own tools.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Commitment to follow all safety procedures and comply with OSHA regulations and safety requirements.
  • Must be a self-starter and willing to take initiative, able and willing to work without direct supervision, and be willing to attend appropriate training sessions.
  • Strong work ethic; independently motivated to produce results with limited influence from others.
  • Hard worker, someone who works diligently to get tasks done and demonstrates personal characteristics, such as responsibility, dependability, conscientiousness, communication, and teamwork.
  • Display a commitment to learning new technologies within the rapidly changing industry.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • DOT Inspector Certification.
  • ASE Certification in brakes and suspension.

Responsibilities

  • Perform light mechanical maintenance on commercial trucks and trailers including: Emergency roadside repairs, Lube, oil change, filter service, Alignments, Front End Suspension, Brakes & Air System, DOT Annual Inspections.
  • Determine service requirements from commercial truck drivers and communicate to Service Supervisor and/or Service Technicians.
  • Properly execute required service ticket to submit to management.
  • Respond in a timely manner to customer service calls, diagnosing issues, and performing on-site repairs and/or replacements.
  • Clean and maintain service equipment.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.
  • Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time, which may include light and heavy lifting, including commercial tires and wheels, standing, bending, and squatting.
  • Report any safety issues immediately to management.
  • Help keep shop clean and organized.
