About The Position

The Commercial Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for estimating HVAC project costs for residential, commercial, and mixed-use buildings ranging from $10K to $3M in scope. This role involves interpreting blueprints, specifications, and scope documents to produce accurate material takeoffs and labor costs. The estimator will collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop competitive bids and value engineering proposals, maintain strong vendor relationships, and identify cost-saving opportunities. The position utilizes estimation software for digital takeoffs and bid submissions and requires participation in site visits and pre-bid meetings.

Requirements

Experience estimating commercial jobs.
Experience estimating multifamily jobs.
Blueprint reading: 2 years (Preferred)
Used estimation software (e.g., Trimble, FastPIPE, PlanSwift) for digital takeoffs and bid submissions.
Attended site visits and pre-bid meetings to assess project feasibility and gather critical information.
Participated in project meetings and site visits to collect essential data and clarify project requirements.

Nice To Haves

HVAC: 3 years (Preferred)
Multifamily construction: 1 year (Preferred)

Responsibilities

Estimate HVAC project costs for residential, commercial, and mixed-use buildings ranging from $10K to $3M in scope.
Interpret blueprints, specifications, and scope documents to produce accurate material takeoffs and labor costs.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop competitive bids and value engineering proposals.
Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure accurate pricing on materials and subcontractor quotes.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and help reduce average bid variance.
Use estimation software (e.g., Trimble, FastPIPE, PlanSwift) for digital takeoffs and bid submissions.
Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings to assess project feasibility and gather critical information.
Participate in project meetings and site visits to collect essential data and clarify project requirements.
Work closely with the Bid Coordinator and estimating team to manage the bid calendar and ensure timely submission of proposals.
