Commercial Mechanical Engineer
About The Position
Comfort Flow Heating is looking for a Commercial Mechanical Engineer to join our Springfield team. This position is responsible for the technical delivery of mechanical and HVAC engineering analysis and design for a diverse range of building and non-building projects. The successful candidate will lead project teams through design coordination, project execution, procurement support, and construction administration while ensuring projects are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable standards and requirements. The Commercial Mechanical Engineer will work on a diverse portfolio of commercial, governmental, industrial, institutional, recreational, residential, and retail projects. Responsibilities include performing engineering calculations, preparing technical reports and spreadsheets, developing construction documents, coordinating with project teams, and supporting projects from initial design through construction completion.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Project Engineer, with progressively increasing project management responsibilities.
- Experience with a variety of commercial construction and engineering design projects.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical/HVAC systems, construction practices, and design processes.
- Experience with design and drafting software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar programs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated experience in plan production, engineering calculations, project coordination, and project execution.
- Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves
- EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) license in Oregon preferred; licensure in additional states is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design and analyze mechanical and HVAC systems for a variety of project types, including new construction and renovation projects.
- Lead and coordinate mechanical design efforts with clients, internal project teams, sub-consultants, contractors, engineers, and designers.
- Communicate effectively with clients and project stakeholders throughout the design and construction process.
- Assist with the development of project proposals, budgets, cost estimates, standards, and schedules.
- Produce accurate, high-quality construction documents in accordance with project milestones, schedules, and established hourly budgets.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality, schedule, and budget expectations.
- Oversee and coordinate the design work of other engineers and designers.
- Perform engineering calculations and prepare technical reports, spreadsheets, specifications, and other project documentation.
- Provide procurement and construction administration support as required.
- Review project documents to ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, codes, specifications, and company quality requirements.
- Work with engineers and designers to prepare new drawings, modify existing drawings, and develop as-built documentation.
- Maintain responsibility for the technical quality and accuracy of assigned mechanical engineering projects.
- Promote the company's reputation through professional communication, technical expertise, and high-quality project delivery.
