About The Position

Journey’s End Marina, a subsidiary of O’Hara Corporation with over 100 years in the maritime industry, is seeking an experienced Marine Diesel Mechanic for a full-time, year-round position in its Commercial division. The ideal candidate will be organized, possess strong mechanical and interpersonal skills, and be capable of delivering quality work in a timely manner to meet customer expectations. Essential to this role is a solid understanding of marine industry operations and boat systems, including plumbing, electrical, hydraulics, heating, and cooling. Computer proficiency and personal tool ownership are considered significant advantages. This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position.

Requirements

• Experienced Marine Diesel Mechanic
• Organized
• Strong mechanical skills
• Strong people skills
• Able to operate in an environment where customers want and expect quality work on a timely basis
• Marine industry experience
• Boating experience
• Understand boat operating systems for plumbing, electrical, hydraulics, heating and cooling
• Computer skills required
• Must be authorized to work in the US
• Understand and follow instructions, directions, and safety rules in English
• Ability to lift/carry at least 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

• Highschool or GED diploma preferred but not required
• Computer skills and own tools are a strong plus
• ABYC accreditation preferred
• Passionate about having outstanding customer interactions

Responsibilities

• Repairing customer boats
• Crawling on or under boats
• Working outside in all weather conditions
• Entering work time in marina software
• Knowledge and adherence to all safety rules and regulations
• Work well as part of a close-knit team
