About The Position

Journey's End Marina, a subsidiary of O'Hara Corporation with over 100 years in the maritime industry, is seeking an experienced Marine Diesel Mechanic for a full-time, year-round position within its Commercial division. The successful candidate will be organized, possess strong mechanical and people skills, and be able to deliver quality work in a timely manner for clients who expect the best. Marine industry and boating experience are essential, along with an understanding of boat operating systems including plumbing, electrical, hydraulics, heating, and cooling. Computer skills and owning personal tools are considered a strong plus. This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position.

• Must be authorized to work in the US
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Computer skills required
• Willingness to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions
• Knowledge of marine mechanical & electrical systems
• Passionate about having outstanding customer interactions
• Must be organized
• Strong mechanical skills
• Strong people skills
• Able to operate in an environment where customers want and expect quality work on a timely basis
• Marine industry experience
• Boating experience
• Understand boat operating systems for plumbing, electrical, hydraulics, heating and cooling

Nice To Haves

• Highschool or GED diploma preferred but not required
• Computer skills and own tools are a strong plus
• ABYC accreditation preferred

Responsibilities

• Repairing customer boats
• Crawling on or under boats
• Working outside in all weather conditions
• Entering work time in marina software
• Knowledge and adherence to all safety rules and regulations
• Work well as part of a close-knit team
