About The Position

We are seeking a reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented Commercial Maintenance Technician to join our growing commercial management team. In this role, you will perform routine facility upkeep, general repairs, seasonal maintenance, and property turn-overs across multiple commercial locations. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills, strong time management, and a commitment to maintaining clean, safe, and professional environments for our tenants and clients.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in general building maintenance, groundskeeping, or property turnover.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with functional knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and repair techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills when interacting with tenants, vendors, and staff.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Valid driver's license and dependable transportation to travel between local property sites throughout the shift.
  • Flexibility to handle seasonal duty shifts and outdoor physical work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections of parking lots, property grounds, lighting, and building exteriors; report major issues or safety hazards to upper management.
  • Execute common area and breezeway upkeep, groundskeeping duties, and seasonal preparation, including prompt snow and ice removal.
  • Respond efficiently to day-to-day service requests and maintenance tickets.
  • Assist senior maintenance staff and HVAC specialists on complex or large-scale projects.
  • Complete the unit turn-over ("make-ready") process to prepare properties for incoming tenants.
  • Perform general repairs, including interior painting, drywall patching, caulking, and door hardware/lock replacement.
  • Conduct basic floor preparation for vendor installations (e.g., carpet, pad, and staple removal; vinyl scraping and underlayment removal).
  • Perform light electrical work, including replacing outlet/switch plates, installing light fixtures and ceiling fans, and servicing emergency lighting/bulbs.
  • Perform minor plumbing tasks, such as clearing clogged waste lines and temporarily pulling toilets for floor installations.
