About The Position

LMF Commercial, LLC (“LMF”), a New York–based CMBS lender and wholly owned subsidiary of Lennar Corporation (NYSE: LEN), is seeking to expand its national Origination team. This role is responsible for sourcing, structuring, and executing first mortgage commercial real estate loans intended for securitization in the CMBS market. The Originator will develop and manage relationships with commercial real estate owners and mortgage brokers, identify viable loan opportunities, and work collaboratively with internal underwriting, legal, and closing teams to guide transactions from initial screening through closing. Positions are available in New York City, Miami, and Los Angeles, with national deal coverage.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in commercial real estate sales, structured finance, or commercial loan originations
  • Proven exposure to commercial mortgage lending and transaction execution
  • Solid credit underwriting foundation, including financial analysis and deal screening
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external counterparties
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple transactions concurrently

Nice To Haves

  • Existing broker and/or borrower relationships preferred
  • With CMBS and securitized lending structures
  • Broad familiarity with multiple CRE asset classes
  • Track record of originated or supported loan closings
  • For senior titles: demonstrated production history, market presence, and ability to independently lead transactions

Responsibilities

  • Source and originate commercial mortgage loan opportunities suitable for CMBS execution across multiple property types
  • Initiate and maintain broker and borrower relationships to drive new business and repeat transactions
  • Evaluate loan opportunities for structural soundness, credit quality, and alignment with LMF lending parameters
  • Collaborate closely with underwriting, asset management, legal, and closing teams throughout the loan lifecycle
  • Participate in preliminary credit analysis, including review of rent rolls, operating statements, valuation, and sponsorship strength
  • Assist in negotiating primary business terms and facilitating due diligence
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders to support timely and efficient loan execution
  • Maintain market awareness of CRE and CMBS trends, pricing, and competitive dynamics
  • For senior-level roles: provide mentorship, deal leadership, and potential broker/client coverage oversight
