About The Position

The Commercial Loan Officer executes an effective business development strategy to grow credit revenue, and services a variety of secured and unsecured loans or lines of credit. Develops commercial financing relationships through a variety of strategies, including calling efforts, professional affiliations and networking, community involvement activities and referrals from both internal business partners and external centers of influence. Provides expert financial advice and guidance to credit customers throughout the loan cycle, from application to close. Achieves a thorough understanding of a borrower’s business objectives, and functions as a business partner throughout the credit relationship. Researches and provides knowledgeable analysis regarding a potential borrower’s financial situation, as well as an assessment of the market, business conditions, credit status and property evaluations. Follows established loan policies and procedures to mitigate credit extension risks, and works collaboratively within the commercial credit approval process to ensure that underwriting and credit quality standards are implemented and maintained. Approves financing decisions within assigned limits or makes recommendations to senior management regarding extension of credit determinations. Manages ongoing portfolio credit quality. Works collaboratively with senior management in all aspects of credit extension and reports any known or suspected violation of regulatory compliance issues. Retains and strengthens current customer relationships. Identifies and successfully cross-sells appropriate bank products and services to new and current customers, and makes appropriate referrals to other functional areas. Serves as the bank’s primary point of contact for the business customer, and manages difficult credit situations as they may arise. Represents Stillman Bank within the communities we serve in a professional manner, through active participation in community organizations, seeking leadership roles where appropriate. Serves on various internal committees within the bank and performs duties at regular meetings as assigned. Directs, reviews and trains supporting staff members as appropriate. Participates in ongoing training and self-development programs to assure all responsibilities of this position are handled appropriately according to the law.

Requirements

  • Appropriate bachelor’s degree in business, finance or sales, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 or more years of previous commercial banking experience.
  • Strong knowledge of lending guidelines, loan requirements, regulations, and compliance issues.
