The Commercial Loan Officer II is responsible for extending credit within the policies and guidelines set forth in the loan policy. This position ensures that all loan decisions, actions, and recommendations are based on an accurate and thorough understanding of each customer's financial needs and conditions and comply with all laws, regulations, and bank policies. The Commercial Loan Officer II must properly administer the creditworthiness and documentation of all loans and/or borrowing relationships originated or assigned to the officer. Further, it is the officer's responsibility to maintain current credit files and proper note and collateral security documents. This role also involves assigning proper credit ratings, recognizing and reporting credit quality deterioration, recommending approval and administering workout programs for problem loans, recommending approval and monitoring reserves, administering the collection process, protecting depositors' funds and stockholders' equity, generating earnings for the bank, promoting a favorable bank image, interviewing loan applicants and making credit decisions, developing new business, managing an existing portfolio, collecting past due loans, keeping credit and collateral exceptions within policy ranges, and managing a portfolio of loans and coordinating collection efforts.
