About The Position

Responsible for management of the Commercial Lending Department. The role involves increasing the commercial loan base at the bank and attaining individual and departmental profit goals through the extension of credit on all types of loans according to established procedures. This position also requires marketing and cross-selling bank services and products to current clients and expanding the bank’s client base through work-related activities and participation in civic, community, and professional organizations.

Requirements

  • Five years’ experience in banking operations or related areas to include a minimum of four years’ experience in a credit grading or lending capacity.
  • Undergraduate degree in banking and finance, accounting or related business area.
  • Thorough knowledge of all bank products and services.
  • Ability to market bank services and products.
  • Effective customer contact skills.
  • Knowledge of mathematics including statistical and financial mathematics skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements.
  • Characteristic knowledge of the industries and companies comprising the bank’s customer base.
  • General areas of competency: decision making, dependability, development, environmental safety, evaluation skills, interpersonal skills, prioritizing, problem solving, selling skills, team skills and time management.
  • Must be capable of working with and maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Must possess skills to maintain harmonious working relationships with supervisors, co-workers and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all activities of the Commercial Loan Department to include supervision of associates.
  • Make and service all types of loans in order to achieve loan volume goals, maximum rate of return and customer satisfaction.
  • Call on existing customers to cross-sell products and assist with problems to ensure the financial and social growth of all banking relationships.
  • Develop new business by calling on potential or existing customers and introducing them to the various bank products and services.
  • Provide information and assistance to less experienced officers and to various bank departments as necessary.
  • Perform assigned routines and special projects in a manner that will add to the effectiveness and efficiency of the department and bank.
  • Maintain audit, security, compliance and regulatory standards.
  • Keep informed of changes in general, banking services, procedures, and in the economy as well.
  • Assist with company functions when possible.
  • Fill in for other departments and/or companies when high volume creates a need if it works within the department/company schedule.
  • Work Saturdays and some holidays on a rotation basis.
  • Assume other duties and responsibilities as requested.
