About The Position

First Security Bank is seeking a professional, energetic, and team-oriented individual to join our team as a Commercial Loan Banking Specialist! In this role, you will build client relationships to drive loan growth, evaluate and approve loans, and ensure accurate, compliant documentation. You will also manage the loan portfolio by monitoring performance, assessing risk, and supporting profitability and compliance. This position requires on-site work.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 10+ years' banking or loan experience with working knowledge in Loan Processing Platform and Appraisal Review is required.
  • Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, typing, 10-key, and utilization of the internet is required.
  • Commitment to demonstrating First Security's Core 5 values with customers and coworkers.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, punctual attendance, and the ability to work on-site with occasional extended hours when necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting, or related field is preferred.
  • Understanding of banking regulations and responsibilities relating to each, including a working knowledge of UCC, titles, mortgages and other aspects of the loan collateral position is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process and manage consumer, commercial, and real estate loans from application through closing and post-closing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact, coordinating communication between customers, loan officers, and third parties.
  • Maintain complete loan files, including credit documentation, collateral, and required notes, in accordance with bank policies and regulatory standards.
  • Evaluate, approve, or recommend loans within authority limits based on thorough financial analysis and risk assessment.
  • Monitor loan portfolio performance, identify risk, and support mitigation strategies while preparing related reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all lending regulations (ECOA, TILA, CRA, HMDA, flood, and privacy requirements).
  • Deliver excellent customer service while supporting administrative functions such as data entry, file management, and reporting.
  • Protect all customer information and bank operations through strict confidentiality.
  • Operate computer software and equipment, telephone, scanner, and copier, and develop proficiency with internal banking systems.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, punctual attendance, and the ability to work on-site with occasional extended hours when necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
