About The Position

Founded in 2000, the firm offers the legal expertise of its 120+ attorneys, who have accumulated experience and problem-solving skills over decades of practice. We are a prominent mid-size law firm with a high-volume practice looking to expand our talented team by adding a Commercial Litigation Paralegal to our Litigation Department.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of commercial litigation paralegal experience.
  • Experience supporting attorneys in complex commercial litigation matters.
  • Strong knowledge of New York State and Federal Court procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Westlaw, and timekeeping software.
  • Exceptional organizational and case management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with attorney billing, time entry, and pre-bill review preferred.
  • Paralegal certificate preferred but not required.
  • Excellent client service and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and capable of anticipating attorney and client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with all aspects of commercial litigation matters from inception through trial and post-judgment proceedings.
  • Draft, prepare, and manage legal documents, including pleadings, discovery demands and responses, subpoenas, motions, stipulations, notices, requests for judicial intervention, and other litigation filings.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain case files, exhibits, deposition materials, and trial binders.
  • Manage document productions, including electronic document review, organization, and OCR processing.
  • File court documents electronically in New York State and Federal Courts through NYSCEF and ECF.
  • Track court appearances, litigation deadlines, discovery schedules, and case calendars.
  • Coordinate with clients, experts, vendors, courts, and opposing counsel as necessary.
  • Conduct legal and factual research and assist attorneys with trial preparation.
  • Prepare attorney billing entries, review pre-bills, and assist with monthly billing processes to ensure timely and accurate client invoicing.
  • Maintain accurate timekeeping records and assist attorneys with tracking billable time and matter management.
  • Provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys as needed.
  • Assist with special projects and perform other ad hoc assignments as directed by attorneys and department management.
