About The Position

The Commercial Lines Support Specialist provides administrative and operational support to the Commercial Lines team to ensure efficient processing of client accounts, policy servicing, and agency workflows. This role assists Account Managers, Producers, and customers with policy documentation, data entry, communication, and day-to-day service needs while maintaining a high level of professionalism and accuracy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Active Michigan Property & Casualty license required, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of Applied Epic; experience with other agency management systems will be considered
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly with data entry
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team setting
  • Professional attitude with a positive and dependable work ethic
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, as permitted by law

Nice To Haves

  • Prior insurance industry or office administrative experience preferred
  • Familiarity with commercial insurance coverages, policies, and terminology preferred
  • Experience working directly with insurance carriers and handling policy servicing tasks preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Commercial Lines department
  • Process policy changes, endorsements, cancellations, reinstatements, and renewals
  • Prepare certificates of insurance, auto ID cards, and evidence of property forms
  • Assist with quoting, applications, and gathering underwriting information
  • Review policies and documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Maintain electronic client files and agency management system documentation
  • Respond promptly to internal and external customer inquiries
  • Communicate with insurance carriers regarding policy servicing and follow-up items
  • Assist in renewal preparation and marketing submissions as directed
  • Process incoming mail, email requests, and policy documents
  • Support billing inquiries and payment processing when needed
  • Ensure compliance with agency procedures, carrier guidelines, and confidentiality standards
  • Provide backup support for other team members as needed
