About The Position

This internship offers an opportunity to work directly with a senior consultant, broker, or advisor in managing and supporting an assigned group of client accounts. The team provides guidance and solutions to a wide variety of firms to help them support their employees in achieving better health and wellness through health, dental, disability, life, and other group insurance benefit programs. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys an environment where their input is valued, their work is varied, and they have opportunities to grow. Success in this role requires strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, combined with a client service focus.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills and a strong math aptitude.
  • Solid working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • A high level of initiative and independence and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Superior interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with an attention to detail.
  • A proven ability to work in a team environment with a flexible attitude.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze plan data in preparation for client meetings, including claims history updates, annual rate renewals, financial analysis, and other ad-hoc projects.
  • Conduct plan market reviews, including producing Request-For-Proposal packages, analyzing insurer quotations, and preparing reports for clients.
  • Manage all aspects of new client policy implementations and policy transfers between benefit providers.
  • Analyze client data to identify trends.
  • Manage client information on internal databases and client management systems.
  • Communicate and liaise with insurance carriers and clients to resolve benefit inquiries, challenges, and claims issues.
  • Advocate for clients and ensure prompt and thorough handling of issues.
  • Work closely with vendors.
  • Develop project timelines and deliverables; liaise with key project stakeholders to ensure adherence to specific timelines.
  • Develop client communication materials and other documents as required.
  • Support client and advisor needs through other projects and responsibilities as required.
