About The Position

A well-established and respected insurance agency is seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager to join its team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This role is ideal for an insurance professional who enjoys building strong client relationships, managing the details that keep accounts running smoothly, and serving as a trusted resource to both clients and producers. The successful candidate will support a small group of producers with an established book of mid-market commercial accounts while delivering exceptional service and follow-through. The agency offers a collaborative team environment, strong carrier relationships, and the opportunity to transition into a hybrid work arrangement following a successful in-person training period.

Requirements

  • Active Iowa Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment
  • Minimum of 2+ years of Commercial Lines Account Management experience
  • Strong understanding of commercial insurance coverage, policy servicing, and renewal processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Applied Epic agency management software is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Analyze client insurance needs, coverage forms, and carrier quotations
  • Complete and submit applications in coordination with producers
  • Follow up with carriers to ensure timely receipt of quotations, policies, and endorsements
  • Issue and process binders, certificates, endorsements, policies, and related documentation
  • Verify accuracy of policies and policy changes and facilitate corrections as needed
  • Process renewals according to agency procedures and timelines
  • Review policy audits and coordinate corrections between clients and carriers when necessary
  • Prepare insurance summaries, schedules, proposals, and client correspondence
  • Determine appropriate billing methods and process invoicing accordingly
  • Provide responsive, professional service to clients, carriers, and internal team members
  • Maintain accurate account records and documentation
  • Support producers with day-to-day service needs and account maintenance
