About The Position

Texas Business Lenders Group (TBLG) is seeking an experienced Commercial Lending Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the CUSO’s commercial loan documentation and related systems. TBLG is a Credit Union Service Organization that serves the Member Business Lending functions for multiple credit unions primarily in Texas, including EECU. They provide underwriting and credit analysis, loan documentation, and servicing for commercial loans of their client credit unions. This full-time position will manage the end-to-end loan documentation and closing process, ensure compliance with approved credit terms and applicable regulatory requirements, and provide leadership, mentoring, and training to the loan documentation team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with complex commercial and commercial real estate lending transactions, strong knowledge of loan documentation and closing requirements, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with lenders, attorneys, title companies, and other internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Legal Studies, or a related field required.
  • 7+ years of experience with complex commercial and commercial real estate loan transactions, preferably in Texas, including loan documentation, due diligence, title review, regulatory requirements, and compliance.
  • Prior experience in management, supervisory or leadership role.
  • Ability to review, read and interpret moderately complex loan documents.
  • Strong analytical skills needed to understand and manage various types of commercial and commercial real estate loans transactions.
  • Experience reviewing legal loan documentation, title commitments, entity documents, and closing requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate documentation, compliance, and operational issues to lenders and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced lending environment.
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive financial and legal information professionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisory, management, team lead, or mentoring experience preferred.
  • Paralegal certification preferred.
  • Experience in financial services or credit union environments

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end loan documentation and closing process for new commercial loans, renewals, extensions, modifications, and other credit transactions, ensuring compliance with approved credit terms, documentation standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and train loan documentation staff; review work prepared by junior team members and perform quality-control reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Review loan files and pre-closing checklists to ensure required documentation, due diligence, approvals, and closing conditions are complete before closing and loan booking.
  • Review any attorney-prepared loan documents for completeness, accuracy, and consistency with approved loan terms and internal requirements.
  • Review all loan packages to ensure accurate and necessary documentation for closing is requested. Follow up on any outstanding closing conditions; track receipt of incoming documents.
  • Maintain accurate tracking of loan documentation, covenants, closing conditions, and other post-closing requirements.
  • Prepare lien releases for paid loans and maintain appropriate record-retention files; retrieve archived loan files as needed.
  • Serve as a resource to lenders and other internal stakeholders regarding loan documentation, closing requirements, compliance matters, and operational procedures.
  • Process tax escrow payments and provide backup support for loan servicing functions, including calculations, research, and resolution of servicing-related issues.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal and Texas laws, regulations, regulatory guidance, and Bank policies and procedures affecting commercial lending operations.
  • Assist the President/CEO with special projects, process improvements, reporting, and other initiatives related to commercial lending operations. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Responsible for compliance of all Federal and State rules and regulations pertaining but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Bribery Act, NCUA Privacy Regulations, Reg B, Reg Z, Reg DD, Reg E, Reg CC, Service Members Civil Relief, and FCRA/FACTA. Required to attend initial and ongoing annual Bank Secrecy Act training.
