About The Position

The position of commercial lending officer will aggressively develop and manage new account relationships through the sale of the bank’s broad range of products and services in the type of loans and in the markets that have been assigned.

Requirements

Must have experience as a commercial lender in the Asheville/Hendersonville, NC area!
Good verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
Ability to maintain strictest level of confidentiality
Credit history & criminal background check required

Responsibilities

Assist in the planning and development of the portfolio objectives and marketing approach that will be used in the assigned lending and market area. Subsequently, the commercial lending officer will organize and implement activities sufficient to accomplish the goals and objectives that have been established for the position.
Conduct all lending activities within rate and credit approval policies that have been established for the assigned commercial lending area. All credit activities are to be conducted to provide the desired level of profits to the bank at a minimum of risk.
Interview loan applicants and collect and analyze financial and related data in order to determine the creditworthiness of the applicants and the merits of specific loan requests with a positive attitude.
Approve or decline loans up to established lending authority and present requests exceeding authority through the assigned procedure.
Act as primary account officer to new commercial customers developed through lending and calling activities, respond to their lending and deposit account needs, as well as cross-sell other products such as investment services.
Prepare, assemble, and document to properly evidence loans, and provide for perfection of security interests in collateral.
Handle and monitor loan exceptions, missing items, and items on the Forecast Report for Maturing Items in a specific and timely manner.
Work, in conjunction with the Collections Department, in the monitoring of loan repayment activities of the assigned loans and take appropriate action to collect and adjust delinquent or problem loans as may be required.
Represent the bank in various professional and community related activities to enhance the visibility and new business opportunities of the bank, and to further personal and bank growth and development.
In addition to lending activities, the commercial loan officer will participate and support all marketing, business development, calling, and incentive programs used by the bank to sell additional services and develop new customer relationships.
Perform various other duties as may be assigned or delegated by the Market President and/or other senior management.
